Fraberts Fresh Food has always been about supporting local farmers and food processors. Now more than ever we need to do all we can to support our local economy.
We are currently going through the products we sell or use in the kitchen item by item and will be highlighting everything produced in Canada. Being winter, we do have American produce on our shelves purchased before the trade war began (and not yet counter tariffed). We aren’t throwing it out as that would be too wasteful (Fraberts also stands for sound environmental practices.) However, we will do what we can to avoid American produce going forward until the end of this trade war.
Our economy is so intertwined with the US – including our agrifood system. It’s going to be a huge challenge to sort through. We hope for a speedy resolution so that we can continue to be great neighbours. We are stronger together.
In the meantime, we stand with Canadians and will do our small part as we weather this chaos and uncertainty.
