Join us as we celebrate Food Day Canada this weekend! The late Anita Stewart, who was a friend and enthusiastic Fraberts supporter, started this event to help Canadian beef farmers through the BSE (mad cow) crisis over twenty years ago. The annual event has grown to celebrate the work of all farmers, fishers, chefs, researchers, and home cooks across the food system.
On Tuesday we kicked off with Elora’s Longest BBQ which featured free oysters from coast to coast, terrific food and drinks from local restaurants and food businesses, and incredible community spirit!
Anita’s mantra was “Canada IS food and the world is richer for it”. We couldn’t agree more!
This year Food Day Canada is officially on Saturday, August 3. Be sure to celebrate all weekend with some delicious local food!
