Celebrate Local Food Week at Fraberts!

Join us as we celebrate Ontario’s first annual Local Food Week from June 2-8!  Fraberts will be featuring different local food products every day with promotions and information.

On Monday we featured Ontario hothouse veggies with 50% off locally grown Boston lettuce and 10% off greenhouse peppers, cucumbers and Floralane tomatoes.  The schedule for the rest of the week is as follows:

Tuesday is local chicken day.  Learn about our fabulous local chicken from Abate Packers in Arthur.  Features for Tuesday include 10% off fresh chicken breasts, thighs, and whole chickens; 25% off frozen chicken breasts, thighs, and whole chickens; 2 for 1 frozen chicken wings

Wednesday is local pork day.  Learn about our local pork from Domingos in Arthur and Harriston Packers in Harriston.  Features for Wednesday include 10% off our own sausages (fresh or frozen); 25% off frozen pork chops.

Thursday is local cheese day.  Learn about Thornloe cheese, Best Baa Sheep Dairy, and River’s Edge Goat Dairy.  Features include 10% off Thornloe cheese, 10% off Best Baa sheep cheese, and 25% off frozen River’s Edge chevre.

Friday is local beef day.  Learn about our local beef from Harriston Packers.  Features include 25% off frozen steaks.

Saturday is our Local Food Festival – meet with local farmers and suppliers and sample local food from 11am-2pm.

Sunday is local veggie day.  Learn about seasonal veggies and our delicious local asparagus will be 10% off.

We are so fortunate in Ontario to have access to a wide variety of delicious local food.  There are many ways you can celebrate Local Food Week.  Commit to eating locally produced food all week.  Host an all-local food barbecue.  Support a retailer, restaurant, or farmers market specializing in local food.
